Roast Turkey
When choosing a turkey allow 1/2 to 3/4 lb. ready to cook
weight for each serving.
Preparing turkey for roasting - Make sure the “oil sac” at base
of turkeys tail is cut off. Wash turkey inside and out.
Sprinkle inside with salt. Brush outside of turkey with melted butter.
(A piece of foil may be placed loosely over top of turkey to prevent burning)
Or the turkey may be placed in a roasting bag. (If placed in bag follow instructions with bag for how to roast)
Roast in 325° oven for:
4 to 6 lb. turkey 3 1/2 to 4 3/4 hours
6 to 8 lb. turkey 4 3/4 to 6 hours
8 to 12 lb. turkey 6 to 7 hours
12 to 16 lb. turkey 7 to 9 hours
16 to 20 lb. turkey 9 to 10 3/4 hours
20 to 24 lb. turkey 10 3/4 to 13 hours
Boneless Seasoned Turkey Breast
Boneless Seasoned Turkey Breast Recipe
1 boneless turkey breast 2-3 pounds
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried parsley flakes
½ teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon pepper
Preheat oven to 350°.
Combine all the spices in a bowl.
Cover turkey with olive oil.
Rub with mixed spice.
Cook for around 90 minutes
Allow to rest 20-30 minutes before slicing
( I cooked in a bag for 2 hours. It was very good)
Kentucky Legend Turkey Breast
How to cook/reheat Kentucky Legend turkey breast
Place turkey on foil large enough to seal tightly
Season with a mixture of:
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried parsley flakes
½ teaspoon dried basil
½ teaspoon pepper
Then wrap the foil tightly around turkey and place in a pan.
Add a a small amount of water to the bottom of pan
Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes per pound
